Duluth is home to St. Mary's Paper, Continental Grain and DMET .
The Duluth Mineral and Energy Terminal, DMET, was designed to unload and stockpile iron ore pellets and western coal hauled to Duluth by various railroads, for transloading into boats serving the various ports on the Great Lakes. DMET has a custom designed car mover and unloading facility so that train crews are not required for general unloding operations.
